Let's Go Fly A Kite...

Is that cutest outfit ever? I honestly can't get over how cute our little punkin is!!!

Ok, Kite Backstory: Jaime came over on Saturday night to play some video games and reminded us about the Kite Festival at Zilker Park the next day. We decided to go with them and their dogs and Jaime said she'd take care of the kite. So after church and a short nap, we loaded up and headed to Zilker. Here's Kinsey and Daddy with our gear.Jaime and Alex picked out an awesome fish kite!!We spent a long time trying to get it to catch the wind and soar, but the wind wasn't really cooperating. Kinsey had a great time holding the string though. The fish tails kept getting tangled up in her legs and in the string, so we pulled them off and Kinsey practiced her future Olympic ribbon dancing while Daddy still tried to fly the kite. Jaime thought maybe running really fast might help. And Kinsey wanted in on the fun.Daddy created some wind, too...Even Mommy tried to get the kite to fly. But Kinsey was pretty content just holding the string and leading the kite parade. Then it was snack time - luckily Jaime brought Kinsey's favorite...There were so many other kites and dogs to watch, it was really entertaining for her. And there were plenty of goldfish so she was in a sharing mood...
It turned into a Jaime, Alex, Kinsey cuddle fest :)So then Alex decided to try his hand with the kite and he actually had some luck!

Bear, one of Jaime and Alex's awesome dogs, couldn't stay out of the action.
We had a great time and Kinsey loved getting to spend time with Jaime and Alex and of course getting to be outside with all the dogs and kites! Can't wait for next year. Or really anytime, as Jaime so astutely pointed out "We couldn't have done this like in YOUR park down the street" :-).

One more tiara pic before we go - this was Kinsey's dinner with Daddy on Sunday night while Mommy was at a Children's Ministry meeting...
p.s. with the writer's strike, Douglas and I have been having "date nights" watching things on Netflix. Well, our newest favorite is the tv show "30 Rock". It is absolutely hilarious. Alec Baldwin and Tracey Morgan are total crack-ups and we highly recommend it to any of you. Favorite line so far, Tracey Morgan's character: "Live every week like it's Shark Week!" Good night!
