What we missed on vacation and our return

During the first few days of our visit to the Atlantis, Grammy and cousin Laura stayed with Kinsey and Tag here at the house. Based on the pictures, it looks like they had a great time despite the seriously icky weather here. The kids haven't gotten to spend much time with Laura since she lives so far away, but she has a great way with kids and they loved her immediately. The kids both had a great time. Kinsey got lots of reading time in.And Tag went from army crawling like this To big boy crawling all in just a couple of days. Here are some other cute Tag pics...For Kinsey's birthday, Grammy brought her these awesome bath dress-up dolls just like her friend Emma has in her tub! Kinsey loves them and has had tons of fun making different outfits. These things are genius! They are flat foam and with the water, they just stick on the wall of the bathtub like a post-it note or something! Crazy - if anyone wants some, let me know and I can give you the info.Apparently there were lots of couch pillows on the floor which leads to tons of fun :)They even went to Ready, Set, Play one day and spent around 4 hours on the slides and bounce houses. Kinsey ran them ragged! One of Kinsey's favorite things these days is Sonic ice. Grammy & Laura love Sonic, too, so it worked out well. On Thursday, Nana and Pops came and took over. I don't have any pics, but I know that there was lots of fun including puzzles, books, toys, and HEB!

When we got back from the Atlantis, we of course had souvenirs for Kinsey. You saw bath friend in our pics from the last posts. He met this Mermaid at Atlantis and just had to bring her home to Kinsey. Kinsey was flipped out over the moon excited. We also got her a mermaid towel. I have no explanation for the facial expression here. She had a lot of emotions going on once we got home so maybe that's it. For some reason she also wanted to wear one of the shower caps we brought home. It was so awesome to be home with our kiddos again - we missed them like crazy.
We came home to a crawling baby boy who is getting into EVERYTHING. I know all the boy-Mommas are laughing at me, but seriously, he is determined to take things apart, especially the toy shelf after I clean it up, stick things in electric sockets, crawl all over the house, eat playdoh, and today, he was chewing on the door to the dryer. Wow. Anyway, here's one of his favorite things to destroy - the pantry. Luckily he can only reach the bottom two shelves, but it's so funny because that's where Kinsey keeps her stuff like her plates and her snacks and such. So she came in the morning after this picture and said "Oh no Mommy, Tag made a mess!" She cleaned it all up, it was so cute! Thank goodness the kid really likes to clean.

Somehow the balloons from Kinsey's party from our buddy Aimee were still floating when we got back from our trip. Tag LOVES these things. He yanks them up and down and then gets them stuck on his arm while he crawls around the house. Very cute. It was time for Tag to try blueberries. I remembered afterwards that with Kinsey, I steamed hers and then pureed them, which might've calmed down the flavor a bit. For Tag, I peeled raw ones and gave him the bites. This was the first reaction. Every time I look at that picture I crack up. The next few bites got steadily better, but still he wasn't sure. He kept opening his mouth though :)Here are a few more highchair pics from the last couple of weeks.
Tag with his blue monkey:He loves watching at his sister. Seeing them together is so fun. Another happy highchair day... About to grab the camera from my hands...His cute pudgy little foot kicking under the highchairWe had the hammock out this week and were having a great time in the backyard. Unfortunately, Kinsey's face and the hammock decided to play chicken. Here she is showing off her bruise.Last week we had a playdate at Dionne's. She made really cool light sabers for Jacob's birthday party out of lime green pool noodles and duct tape and black tape. She made a girly one for Emma which Tag was pretty fascinated with. Kinsey and Emma of course played dress-up. Look at these beautiful girls! Then they had some lunch, which Kinsey decided she should be nekkid for, and then she just stayed nekkid. My nekkid kids always fascinate the McB kids - cracks me up. Anyway, here they are kicked back watching Super Why. Kinsey has a new love - Oreo cookies and milk. Douglas was eating some and dunking them and called her over to try a dunked cookie. She really dug it and proceeded to casually nab about 4 more of them and dunk them. Finally grabbed the camera. I love how she asks me permission to do the most mundane things (like every morning she asks if she can bring her mermaid into the living room) but when it comes to pigging out on cookies, she remains under the radar :)Last weekend we went to Payton Wonderly's 1st birthday party. It was beautiful - Ashley and her sister Brittany and her cousin Kendall have amazing creativity and the party was great fun! Here's the birthday girl with her Mommy. And here are my favorite people on the planet:Next up, Tag's 10 month pics!!!
