He's really trying to communicate these days. He just stares at us and makes "gah" and "oooh" sounds and gurgles. It's so cute. If you make the sounds, it's almost like he's mimicing them back. I just love talking to him, he has so much fun talking and it's such a sweet little voice. He's really starting to laugh and he loves for us to sing to him. Here he is listening to Kinsey and Mommy doing the animal sounds from "King of the Jungle"...
And here's another cute face from the photo shoot.
And here are Dionne and Kinsey and Emma...
Here are Kinsey and Emma on the airplane. We had to de-plane about 1 minute later due to a change of heart of one of the pilots - you get one guess which one. Hint - it's not the one smiling :)
Cody is Riley's little brother who was born the same day as Tag - they had a BLAST at Kiddie Acres...
It was a really good time and Kinsey had an awesome nap that day :).
So I'm remembering lots of the irony of babies - like he sleeps soundly during the Praise & Worship part of the service and starts fussing as soon as the room gets quiet and the preaching starts? (no offense Keith!) Or the way he can tell when I'm in the middle of cleaning up his sister's huge gross diaper and he decides that he's hungry NOW and starts relentlessly screaming. Or my personal favorite: I've just done the oh-so-careful slow walk to the crib to lay him down so he doesn't wake up and will take a nap so I can actually take a shower and as soon as his head hits the pillow he wakes up WIDE awake, no nap to be had. The irony here is that when I was trying to feed him just a few minutes earlier, he was sleeping like the dead and wouldn't wake up for anything. Here is that particular deep sleep moment captured on film...
We've been doing well. Kinsey is still an awesome helper and is so happy to have her baby brother around (well, most of the time!). She loves to play Mommy with her "friends", especially Uniqua from the Backyardigans. She pretends to change her diaper, rocks her, feeds her, and puts her down for naps. I love watching her put the dolls in the swing and bouncer and "assinet" as she calls it because she is so slow and gentle and she whispers to them in this precious little voice. She is so smart and continues to love learning things. She's really digging the Spanish words on Dora, learning some colors and a few words here and there. She'll ask me random questions like "How do you say Oops in Spanish Mommy?" And she LOVES books. She's starting to "read" them - she turns the pages and tries to remember the story. It usually ends up pretty funny. Like if she's reading Noah's Ark, she'll talk about how Noah obeyed God and God forgave the animals for the storm.
Here's a picture of her cutting up in the bathtub the other night. She hates washing her hair so we try to make it fun when we can :)
